HAPPENING NOW: Join us for a Free Press Facebook Live discussion.

Friend,

Almost four years ago, Puerto Rico experienced two devastating hurricanes, Irma and Maria, which led to catastrophic damage and a historic communications crisis. The collapse of the communications networks contributed to the historic death toll: Between 3,000 and 5,000 people died. Since then, Free Press has worked with Puerto Rican allies to hold the FCC and the federal government accountable.

Today we’re talking with Senior Policy Counsel Carmen Scurato and Policy Counsel Leo Fitzpatrick about Free Press’ efforts to ensure local and federal authorities work to prevent another communications crisis from happening again.

Tune in now for a Free Press Facebook Live about the FCC’s response after climate disasters and the state of Puerto Rico telecommunications.

Free Press Live airs every Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. ET via facebook.com/freepress. Turn on your live notifications now so you don’t miss what’s new in the world of media, tech and human rights.

Hope to see you online,
