At Grades of Green, every day feels like Earth Day because we get to help student Eco-Leaders inspire people across the world to address the climate crisis and environmental injustice. The Grades of Green team from the Matungu Community Development Charity in Nairobi, Kenya, took advantage of international Earth Day celebrations and inspired their community by planting 3,500 tree saplings.
Kishoka Youth Organization Wins
5 Gyres Action Fund Grant
Big news! We're thrilled to announce that the Grades of Green students from the Kishoka Youth Organization in Mombasa, Kenya, were recently selected as a recipient of the competitive 5 Gyres Action Fund grants! We were proud to help this deserving team apply for the award. This selective fund offers networking and mentorship opportunities to just five global ambassadors from across the world in addition to a $1,000 grant to support their work driving local solutions to plastic pollution. Remember our students from the California Academy of Mathematics and Science in Carson who turned old clothes into dog toys for pups in need? This weekend, we'll be joining these intrepid students, Gone to the Dogs Rescue and Subaru Pacific - who donated the clothes - to celebrate their project!
