Season's Greetings

  John,

This holiday season, I am reminded of the importance of community.

2020 has been an incredibly difficult year for all of us. Through all the uncertainty and unpredictability you were there for us and your loyal support enabled us to maintain our services to the community.

Despite the challenges, KQED rose to the occasion. Our journalists delivered critical and lifesaving information – amidst a pandemic, calls for social justice and raging wildfires – and provided trusted information so you could actively and responsibly participate in the election. Our arts and culture team uncovered stories to enlighten and inspire. And our education team launched a statewide in-home learning plan for homebound students and teachers. All of us at KQED adapted in the most demanding of circumstances, but we could not have done it without your support.

As we hope and aspire for better times, compassion, kindness, empathy and respect can unify us – despite our differences – for the common good. We are grateful and fortunate to serve the Bay Area. Thank you for being part of this civically engaged and culturally vibrant community.

On behalf of everyone at KQED, I wish you and your loved ones a warm and joyous holiday season and a happy New Year.

Michael Isip
