Has City Court found a new home?

Welcome back to another edition of Acadiana Business Today. Let's get on to the headlines as you start your week. 

The proposal to move Lafayette City Court as part of a major downtown residential project took another step toward reality after both sides reached an agreement to purchase the Lemoine Building.

The 42,175-square-foot downtown building, 214 Jefferson St., is now under contract between the owner and the City of Lafayette, documents show. The property was listed at just under $6.2 million and includes the parking area behind the building and the lot at the corner of Cypress and Jefferson streets.
