Good morning and welcome to the September 4 edition of the Saints Insider newsletter, and happy Week 1 to all who celebrate. The Chosen 1Alontae Taylor has a new number (1) and a new position this season. The Saints parted ways with veteran corner Bradley Roby last week in a surprising move on cut down day. His release was a clear signal that the team is ready to hand the starting slot corner job over to Taylor, who prior to this offseason had never played the position in a game. I spoke with Taylor last week, and he is asking for the Who Dats out there to have a little faith, and understand there may be some growing pains. Lattimore: BackThe Saints held a Labor Day practice at their facility Monday, and while there wasn't a whole lot to glean from what we saw, there was one bit of good news: Pro Bowl corner Marshon Lattimore was back at practice. Coach Dennis Allen said the veteran corner was a limited participant in Monday's session, but it was still a good sign for the Saints to see him back out there as he's been dealing with a knee injury. Zach Ewing has the latest on that, plus a little not-so-good news. By the way: The first injury report of the season comes out tomorrow, for those interested.
