| | | | Hi there, I’m excited to let you know that the call for projects for our third round of MozFest Trustworthy AI Working Groups is now open! Trustworthy AI Working Groups are made up of community members who come together to work on technically focused projects that aim to build more Trustworthy AI. The program began two years ago with a working group for AI Builders especially concerned with technology-based products and policy-making around technical regulations and specifications. We now convene 2 cohorts per round, one for AI Builders and another for Civil Society Actors. “This project would not have come into fruition were it not for MozFest providing a safe space and the framework to ideate with like-minded individuals committed to Technology’s original promise.” — Working Group Member We are incredibly proud of the work that has come out of our Trustworthy AI community. In fact, a few projects from both cohorts have received funding to continue their work beyond our working group. And they continue to use MozFest as a place to convene and mobilize: Algowritten: Genre Bias in AI-generated text Visualizing Internet Subcultures on Social Media Low-Resource Languages and their Open-Source AI/ML Solutions through a Radical Empathy Lens As part of our call for proposals, I wanted to make sure you knew about this opportunity to participate in the next round of working groups and to contribute to their projects. Read what Tara Vaseffi, a working group member from the previous two cohorts, says she’s gained from the experience and the community connections. Please also feel welcome to share our call for participation with your networks and communities. In the meantime, if we can answer any questions or be of further help, let us know! We can’t wait to receive your project idea. All the best, Temi Popo | |
