Good evening

It’s amazing how much better people feel when the weather picks up.

And let’s face it, after the last 15 months we could all do with a pick-me-up.

We have been stuck inside our homes for much of the last six months thanks to the inclement weather and Covid restrictions, so it is hardly surprising that we all go a little bit crazy when the sun shows its face.

This has been one of the hottest bank holidays on record and there is more to come for the rest of the week.

The fact that it is half term and many people are holidaying in this country for a change, could provide a huge economic boost to many resorts, including Blackpool and Morecambe here in Lancashire, not to mention our local cafes, bars and restaurants.

It might just be the kick-start those businesses which depend on tourism to survive, will need. Hospitality has been hugely hit and desperately needs some good news and plenty of custom.

But just a small word of caution. Covid is still out there and not everyone is protected by vaccination yet. So have fun, enjoy the sun but above all, please stay safe.

Have an enjoyable evening,

Gillian
