Have you been creative during this whole quarantine?

With how things are going right now, it’s easy to get lost on social media nowadays. So let’s talk about how you could ignite that creative side of you with some photography you can do at home.

And if people are telling you that you need to have a huge DSLR camera to be a photographer, they’re not creative at all.

You can definitely take great photos with your phone and train your eye for photography.

While we’re no experts, we do give our best in our photos because we take pride in what we do especially for our customers.

Let’s start off with an object. Even something as simple as a fruit is fine.

Sites like Pinterest and Behance are your best friend for ideas on creative work. But for now, let’s use some of our work as an example and see what we could learn from it.

For now, let’s have a look at our own photos from our Instagram as an idea for start.

When it comes to photography, lighting is your best friend. It either makes or breaks your photos. Find somewhere that’s filled with natural light. Windows are a great choice!

The pictures are also uncluttered. This is because we want to give it a sense of space and create contrast with colours so our subject stands out.

Clean walls and flooring are great for this occasion. If not, try and see if you could find any cardboards or blankets. Have your subject framed with them in your camera and find a good composition for your photo.

Remember, we’re doing this at home so don’t stress about how great it has to look. The process comes first. When you progress, ideas will come to you naturally. We’re going to use a recent print for a simple example to be fair.

Here’s what we came up with straight out of camera with a table runner and window lighting after several tryouts.

Not too bad isn’t it? While it's not Picasso level, we do have an Instagram-worthy photo.

Truth is if you think you’re stuck, start right away and your inspiration and creativity will flow to you. Keep your engine going and your flare will never burn out.

Hope you got something out of this. Stay creative friends.
