Like everything else, the pandemic has taken a toll on our friendships. And that’s a real shame, because friendship is an important — if often overlooked — aspect of our overall wellbeing. Studies show that strong social ties can decrease risk for depression, and that people who have satisfying relationships with family and friends are happier and may even live longer. So, yes, while another Zoom or Facetime after a long day may feel like a chore at times, there are real benefits to keeping up with your friends — if those specific friendships are still serving you, that is.
