Sukhoi to decide on new Superjet variant by 1Q 2018

Russian manufacturer Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Corp. (SCAC) must decide by 1Q 2018 about whether to begin developing a smaller or larger variant of the SSJ100 Superjet.


Hawaiian Airlines CEO Dunkerley to retire after 15-year run

Hawaiian Airlines president and CEO Mark Dunkerley will retire and be replaced by EVP and CCO Peter Ingram, effective March 1, 2018, ending a 15-year run in which Dunkerley transformed the Honolulu-based carrier.

Air Senegal commits to two A330neos

Air Senegal has signed an MOU for two Airbus A330neo aircraft, making the national carrier of Senegal the first airline in Africa to select new re-engined A330 version.


Ethiopian Airlines expects 100-seater decision in 2018

Ethiopian Airlines expects to make a decision next year on an order for a 100-seater type and is carefully watching Boeing’s plans for a Mid-Market Aircraft (MMA), the airline’s group CEO Tewolde Gebremariam said at the Dubai Air Show.

Avianca’s 3Q net result shows early impact of pilot strike

Bogota, Colombia-based Avianca Holdings posted a 2017 third-quarter $36.1 million net profit, down 4.5% from $37.8 million in 3Q 2016, as the airline realized $17.1 million in losses from the first 10 days of what would become a 51-day strike by over half of Avianca’s pilots.
