According to the 2019 Residency Coordinator Salary Survey, approximately 67% of respondents have received a pay increase within the past year (see Figure 1). This is slightly better than the 2017 survey in which 66% of respondents reported receiving a pay increase. However, the 2019 survey results are still down from the 2016 results in which more than 75% of respondents reported pay increases.
The reason cited most often for pay increases this year was a performancerelated review (47%), with the second most common reason being an annual/contractual raise (31%).
“In an institutional setting, raises are fairly uncommon, unless there are additional duties or a change in title,” says Stephanie Stenner, urology program coordinator at University of Florida College of Medicine. “Unfortunately, the failure of administrators to understand the amount of additional duties coordinators consistently have added to their plates is a huge part of the problem.”
