"So this is probably a stupid question... but what exactly is copywriting?" 

That's exactly what my client Tim asked me in an email last August. 

At the time he was working 80+ hours a week at a local car dealership...

...And making pretty good money doing it. 

But he knew that there was more to life than living in a parking lot. 

He wanted to create real freedom and build an income stream that allowed him to live life on his terms. 

And I knew copywriting was the best and fastest way for him to do it. 

I fired back a few resources to help him get started... 

...And he went after them like a mad man. 

I'm not exaggerating when I say that within a few months... 

...He grew more than most "professional" copywriters do in their entire career. 

Every day when he came home from the lot... 

He'd pour over classic copywriting books from advertising legends... 

Write out sales letters by hand... 

Build his swipe file and write practice letters and emails... 

...Then wake up and do it all over again. 

As a result... 

He's now writing copy for my team and me... 

He's working with my buddy Sharran "The $3 Billion Man" Srivatsaa... 

And I can all but guarantee that he'll be able to quit his 6-figure job and fully replace his income with copy clients in the next 6 months.  

Now... 

There are two major lessons here that you might have missed. 

The first is the importance of coaching and objective outside eyes. 

Because if Tim had never reached out to me and asked for help... 

...He wouldn't even know what copywriting is. 

Much less be on track to turn it into his full time career. 

And no matter what level of the game you're at... 

You NEED a coach to give you perspective, keep you in check, and hold you accountable to the commitments you make. 

(I believe in this so strongly I'm hiring three coaches and consultants over the next 6 months--including one who charges $25k/day--to help my team and I get to the next level). 

Every single person I know playing the games of life and business at the highest level use coaching to go from good to great... 

And you need to do the same. 

The second lesson is to accept the long game--and play it. 

Some of you might be surprised that I'm highlighting Tim's story before he's made the leap from employee to freelance copywriter. 

But the thing is... 

To go from ZERO copywriting experience... 

...To being on track to make 6-figures in 18 months (and I'm very confident Tim will break through the 6-figure mark by early 2021) is INSANE. 

It took my head copywriter Austin almost 3 years before he made a full time living from copywriting... 

And another 2 years after that before he was making 6-figures. 

It took Stefan Georgi... 

Arguably the world's best copywriter who's sold more than $700MM of "stuff" online... 

More than three years before he hit the 6-figure level. 

And it took yours truly about 2 years (plus several years of "wantrepreneurship" before I started making "real" money online. 

So I'm SUPER proud of Tim. 

Because I know that he understands the importance of the long game... 

...And he's playing it like a pro. 

He isn't trying to become an overnight success or rush the process. 

He's just showing up day in and day out and putting in the work. 

And that's my challenge to you. 

Accept that success takes time. 

Getting coaching, mentorship, and proven systems can help you shorten the curve (a LOT). 

And it doesn't have to take years or decades. 

But it sure as heck isn't going to happen overnight. 

And the sooner you can accept the long game of success and start to PLAY it... 

...Paradoxically the shorter your journey to the top will be.
