Jeff Flake, R-Ariz.; Susan Collins, R-Maine; and Joe Manchin, D-W.V., ultimately sealed Kavanaugh's fate with their "yes" votes. Kavanaugh takes the Supreme Court seat of Justice Anthony Kennedy, who retired earlier this year.
