| Hey and happy Monday, Today… I want to share a quick story about my client Tim… ...That illustrates two of the most important commandments of success. I felt sick to my stomach… I knew I was smarter than this… I was BETTER than this… but there I was… Nervously watching the gas gauge and hoping we’d make it home. As we inched closer to my apartment … I thought I was in the clear. But then my girlfriend asked to swing by the dry cleaner for… something. I honestly don’t remember. I was too panicked to pay attention. Too embarrassed to say “No”. Because I knew I’d have to explain why I couldn’t afford to put another $20, $10… even $5 of gas in my car. I put on my blinker and turned toward the dry cleaner, praying she wouldn’t ask to stop for food. She didn’t. And to my surprise… the car turned back on after I let her out to run her errand. But from there the 6 minute ride home was an eternity. The whole way I was angry. Angry with my job. Angry with my dumb car. But most of all… angry with myself. For being in this situation and failing to be in a more stable place at this point in my life. Somehow… we made it home. And--no joke--the moment I pulled into my parking space, the engine sputtered and died. We made it. THANK. GOD. But I was still angry. More importantly, I was determined to NEVER feel that way again. And as I sat there in my now-dead car, I swore to myself that no matter what, something would change… I didn’t know what I would do or how I would do it. But I refused to accept THIS as my lifestyle. And committed to getting to the next level no matter what it took…"
