In this ebulletin we cover a collaborative partnership carrying out research into work-related violence and aggression (V&A) in social care, including a survey and webinar. |
| A collaborative partnership between HSE and The University of Manchester are undertaking research into work-related V&A in social care. The partnership, known as theThomas Aston Institute for Risk and Regulatory Research, is looking for volunteers to complete a short surveyon work-related V&A in social care. The deadline for completion of this survey is 15 September 2023. HSE will be hosting a webinar to share information on V&A and good practice: Violence and aggression in a social care setting 13 September 2023 - 10am - 11.30am
The aim of this survey and webinar is to help us improve our understanding of V&A in social care. HSEs statistics show that social care workers have a higher than average rate of the risk of V&A. This includes any incident in which a person is abused, threatened or assaulted in circumstances relating to their work. HSE is interested in understanding the true extent of the problem and the impact on workers, as well as identifying potential solutions.
