Massachusetts ranks second among the 50 states when it comes to maintaining protections against elder abuse, according to an analysis released Wednesday.

Matthew D'Errico, a resident of Shrewsbury, has joined the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School, as the center's new vice president for information technology. He was most recently director of community hospital information technology at Lahey Health and director of information technology for Winchester Hospital. He is a graduate of Worcester State University and received his master's of business administration in healthcare management from Assumption College.
