Should parents be able to choose the gender of their baby?

US doctor Daniel Potter thinks it’s “ridiculous” that sex-selection isn’t available in Australia.

At the moment hundreds of Aussie parents are travelling overseas each year for the controversial service.

This week Tamara McDonald speaks to Caitlin Bailey, a Melbourne mum who has spent $45,000 to ensure her fourth child is a daughter.

The nation's peak fertility body says the last review into sex selection was a decade ago and it could be worth revisiting. But human rights experts have raised concerns.

Meanwhile, respected psychiatrist Patrick McGorry has written about how we need to stop using "narcissist" as a catch-all insult for people we fear or dislike.

He delves into what narcissism actually is and why it seems to have gone "mainstream".

Have a great week.
