In these special in-person and livestreamed events I’ll be discussing my book, What Just Happened?!
Hello! I am thrilled to say that the paperback edition of my book, What Just Happened?!, is out in June - and I’m going to be doing not one but THREE Guardian Live events to mark it. The first is in London on June 1, chaired by my brilliant colleague Jonathan Freedland. The second is in Leeds on June 7, chaired by my also wonderful colleague Gaby Hinsliff. And the third is in Brighton on June 13, chaired by the great Gary Younge. The book is a collection of my columns from the past few years – that period where it felt like the news smashed through the looking glass and took us all with it. I think we’re still stuck there, so do let me know if you have found some tunnel out. Many millions of people would like to join you. In the meantime, what HAS just happened? The book comprises a magical mystery tour of the political chaos, celebrity madness, royal rumpuses, sporting heroes and villains, international pandemics, space-racing billionaires, and toxic tyrants from Vladimir Putin to Donald Trump. Hey – at least we saw him off, didn’t we? Didn’t we…? Along with my most excellent hosts, I can’t wait to discuss this turbulent period on stage - and perhaps to lead some primal scream therapy about it all. At the very least we should be able to have some fun and a slightly deranged laugh - and to remind ourselves that yes, somehow, it really did ALL happen. Do feel free to join me for an evening – you can book tickets and find out more info here. And if you can’t come along in person, you can always book yourself a livestream ticket here. Sending you all my best wishes and thank you for reading. | |
