Beat the heat: It’s hot as blazes out there. Well, at least it is between the thunderstorms. Anyway, the City Council in New Orleans was expected to take up a measure today that would allow sanitation workers to hit the streets a bit earlier to help them avoid the worst of the heat, James Finn reports.
Chick-fil-A traffic: A Metairie outpost of the popular chain is expanding its footprint in an effort to keep vehicles from stacking up in the drive-thru lane and blocking Veterans Memorial Boulevard. Blake Paterson has the details.
