The best states for physicians

Personal finance website WalletHub recently ranked all 50 states and the District of Columbia based on 11 metrics to determine where is the best place for physicians to practice. The metrics included mean annual wages, number of hospitals per 100,000 residents, malpractice award payouts, and current and future competition.

A recent study published in Health Affairs found that when physician practices have care-management processes in place to identify and provide targeted care to patients with chronic conditions, physicians tend to use them less frequently for patients with depression.
