Dear Friend of the World Peace Game, As Founder of the World Peace Game, I am often asked, “How do you know that the World Peace Game makes a difference?”. When I reflect on the past thirty years of teaching the Game, what comes to mind most is this response from one of my former 4th grade students: “Mr. Hunter and the World Peace Game taught me that when we take care of others, we are taking care of ourselves, too.” Through the World Peace Game, children learn “the work of peace” not as a pie-in-the-sky dream, but as an attainable goal. At the heart of the Game are the essential tools that the children need to accomplish this: communication, collaboration, and compromise. On an individual level, children practice thinking independently and how to look within themselves for answers to questions that rarely have a simple right or wrong answer. The World Peace Game Foundation is on a mission to spread the Game to educators and children worldwide. By combining the lessons gleaned from decades of experience teaching the Game with the core 21st Century education principles that underlie it, we have equipped teachers to take the World Peace Game into their own classrooms around the world. We have made exciting strides. Since the Foundation was officially launched as an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2014, the World Peace Game has expanded from one teacher in a classroom in Charlottesville, Virginia to a global community of facilitators: 150+ teachers from 18 countries trained in World Peace Game Master Classes 7 World Peace Game Camps for children in the United States and Europe 26 teachers trained in advanced facilitator Master Classes We need your help.
