Help wanted...

Good morning, and welcome to the Saints Insider newsletter for Thursday, Jan. 9.

With the 2024 season in the books, the Saints now turn their attention to the offseason. It should be a busy one -- for the Saints and our coverage team.

Here's our lineup of coverage for today...

And it so it begins...

The search for the club's 12th head coach began in earnest on Wednesday as the Saints conducted their first formal interview with a prospective head coaching candidate.

Among the men expected to interview for the Saints' head coaching position is one of the hottest candidates on the NFL market, Luke Johnson reports.

Meanwhile, Matt Paras reports the Saints' search could be a lengthy process if they follow their recent method of operation.

Puttin' on the Rizz'

Former interim head coach Darren Rizzi is expected to interview for the Saints' head coaching job sometime next week. Meantime, he's already lined up an interview for another team's vacant head coaching position, Luke Johnson reports.

He's a wanted man

Klint Kubiak is under contract with the Saints, but an NFL insider believes he could be targeted by a rival team for its vacant offensive coordinator position.

Ram's retirement ready

The Saints restructured the contract of veteran right tackle Ryan Ramczyk in administrative move designed to pave the way for his retirement, Matt Paras reports.

A few of my favorite Saints

And finally, my season-long "25 for 25" column series concluded this week. I saved the best for last: My favorite Saints players. Hope you enjoy.

That's all for today. We'll have more coverage and analysis throughout the days and weeks ahead as the Saints begin their search for a new head coach.

Until next time...

Cheers,

Jeff Duncan
