Biden leads Trump by 8 points in Wisconsin [Milwaukee Journal Sentinel]. Democrats will not hold a traditional convention with thousands of attendees. Instead, the mostly virtual convention will still be anchored in Milwaukee, but state delegations are asked to do their business remotely [Politico]. Justice DepartmentA federal appeals court ordered a lower-court judge to drop the felony false-statement case against former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn. The ruling comes after Attorney General William Barr moved to pull the plug on Flynn's prosecution after he had twice pled guilty to lying to the FBI [USA Today]. Attorney General Barr agreed to testify before the House Judiciary Committee on July 28 [Axios]. EconomyThe U.S. economic recovery seems to be slowing down in states experiencing a surge in coronavirus cases [Bloomberg].
