Heyyo! It's Week 11 and I have been producing a newsletter post six days a week since July, and I'm feeling like I need to give myself a breather today. Today's newsletter won't follow any specific format, I'm just going to write as much or little as feels right about some players who I am trading for at this moment in time. |
Thanks for being here! |
I also want to point you to the podcast that I just recorded with JJ Zachariason ! It was a fun and insightful conversation! Even if you don't have time this week, you could bookmark and come back to it later! Nearly the entire conversation is going to remain relevant beyond this week. JJ is the first person to give me a chance at working in the football space, so if you're curious about learning more about me, you'll probably find the episode interesting. And if you're curious about learning to be a better Fantasy football player, JJ is on my Mount Rushmore of analysts. I think you'll really enjoy the episode! |
I've been sending trades for these players heading into Week 11 |
Jaylen Warren -- He's dirt cheap. If healthy, it could be a fun finish to the season for Pittsburgh's explosive passing downs back. |
Jauan Jennings -- Another player who is positioned extremely well for a strong finish to the season and who popped up on the injury report today! Fun! |
Deebo Samuel -- The upside is there for him to lead all wide receivers in scoring from this point on. The Niners have the second-highest remaining Vegas-implied point total. Which player feels like the biggest underperformer of the bunch? It's got to be Deebo, right? That's probably the best trade target, unless you assume that his health is going to stand in the way of a return to form. |
Chase Brown -- It feels like a "buy-high," but so what? You don't have to be the smartest one in the room all the time. It doesn't matter if you timed the Chase Brown "buy window" perfectly, it's entirely possible that all that will end up mattering is that you got in. The price might still not be prohibitive. He didn't have a super explosive performance in Week 10, but he did have the usage that we have been waiting for confirmation of. Brown had the highest route rate of any RB. He pass-blocked more than ever before. He had 11 targets. This is all new and completely unprecedented. The only remaining answers we had have been answered. |
(I'm using the below tweet to endorse Chase Brown-buys, but maybe Isiah Pacheco also makes sense?! The KC RB role has been massive!) |
Brown is the unquestioned RB1 on an offense projected for the fifth-most points per game from now until Week 17. The only running backs who I would rather roster for Fantasy purposes at this point in time are Saquon Barkley, Bijan Robinson, Breece Hall, De'Von Achane, Derrick Henry, Christian McCaffrey, Jahmyr Gibbs, Kyren Williams, and Joe Mixon. |
There are some good defenses on the upcoming schedule for the Bengals. Maybe a Brown manager will feel like they're doing the smart thing by selling high. If you can get anyone to trade him away, it's worth exploring. |
Give me McConkey over CeeDee Lamb rest of season. I'll take McConkey over DeVonta Smith. I think you can justify preferring him to Zay Flowers. Baltimore still has a bye week (Week 14, a pretty important one for those pushing for the Fantasy playoffs) and has a brutal remaining schedule altogether. Give me McConkey over Jaylen Waddle and Brian Thomas. I think you could rank him ahead of Darnell Mooney, Mike Evans, Tee Higgins, Tank Dell, or even the great and powerful Jauan Jennings. Rookies win leagues late in the year, and the run way is set for McConkey to do just that. |
Christian Watson -- These are the deep dark secrets that I am hiding for only those of you willing to scroll all the way to the end of the post. I'm trading for Christian Watson. Upcoming over/unders set for Green Bay Packers games (from Week 12 on) -- 49 points, 49 again, 48, 47, 45, 46. Shootout, shootout, shootout. We could see some huge passing touchdown totals come for Jordan Love. |
Trey McBride?!?! Surely you can't trade for McBride! But what if you could?! Can't hurt to check! Cardinals are on bye, and McBride has still not scored a receiving touchdown. Maybe the manager who rosters him needs help getting a W this week. Maybe you can be the one to help them out with that! It's going to cost them Trey McBride, though. You could turn Brock Bowers into McBride. His first-read target rate is way down with Jakobi Meyers on the field. |
Trey Benson -- Also on a bye, and I wonder if maybe we'll see him more involved coming out of the bye. Benson had two total first quarter carries all season prior to Week 10. He split first quarter carries 2-to-5 with James Conner in Week 10's game. He saw 31% of the RB rush share in the first half, that was the highest mark of the season. Maybe he'll be a bigger part of the RB rotation going forward! And if the oft-injured James Conner misses any time, Benson brings massive upside with juicy Week 16 and 17 matchups vs. the Panthers and Rams. |
Mike Evans -- I've been trying to grab him cheap where I can. If I'm making a push for a Dynasty championship, you better believe I have been in the Mike Evans manager's inbox. The Bucs may not need to pass deep much in matchups vs. the Panthers (twice), Giants, Raiders, or Cowboys, but maybe they will! Who know?! Baker Mayfield likes to chuck that thing deep, and you know he's been missing Mike Evans lately! The upside is massive for Evans without Chris Godwin around for Liam Coen to run his offense through. |
If you have any feedback on the newsletter, feel free to send them my way. Thank you for reading! And please, do check out Beyond the Boxscore on FFT! Dan and I put a lot of work into that podcast project and aim to make it fun and accessible for any level of NFL fan! |
