This has been a pretty rough season for Fantasy analysts who have to write about the waiver wire. There have been some solid adds from the wire this season, of course -- James Conner, Mike Williams, and Mike Gesicki are just three names who have made an impact off the wire -- but there just haven't been many weeks where there is an obvious must-add player worth breaking the bank for.
And Week 10 likely won't be very different. Obviously, as last week reminded us, news can break at any time that can shake up the Fantasy landscape, but as of now, my top early targets for the Week 10 waiver wire probably aren't going to see too many bidding wars for their service. Which is fine with me -- I added Brandon Aiyuk in a few leagues last week already, but I'll be happy to add him for a few bucks more this week.
We'll get to my full list of waiver-wire targets for Week 10 in tonight's newsletter, and tomorrow, you'll get my recaps of every game with winners and losers, plus Heath Cummings' breakdown of the biggest storylines coming out of Sunday's games. But first, let's catch up on some injuries Sunday we'll need to keep an eye on.
Week 9 injuries
The following players left their games and didn't return:
  • Chase Edmonds (ankle) -- Edmonds left after just one carry, and it was James Conner who stepped up in a big way in his absence, rushing for 96 yards with two touchdowns and adding 77 yards and a touchdown on five catches. Eno Benjamin took a step up with Edmonds out, rushing for 39 yards and a touchdown of his own, but if Edmonds is out, this is Conner's backfield and he should be a top-15 back.
  • Zack Moss (concussion) -- Concussions are tricky issues, because you'll usually see a player cleared to play within a week, but occasionally you'll see situations like Taysom Hill's, where he missed three weeks before being cleared. If Moss does have to miss time, obviously Devin Singletary would be the beneficiary, and could be a top-24 RB.
  • Damien Harris (head)/Rhamondre Stevenson (head) -- Stevenson impressed, as he has done every time he's gotten carries, but if he isn't cleared before Harris, it may not matter all that much. Stevenson has the most three-down potential in this Patriots backfield, so we'll keep an eye on this one -- he's an interesting waiver-wire claim.
  • Jonnu Smith (shoulder) -- Smith had just two targets before his injury; Hunter Henry had just three all game. Henry remains a touchdown-or-bust guy whether Smith plays or not.
And the following players also left their games only to return. We'll note these after seeing Derrick Henry return from an injury only to require surgery last week. Just keep an eye on these guys:
Ezekiel Elliott (knee contusion)
  • Austin Ekeler (hand)
  • Devontae Booker (hip)
  • Josh Jacobs (unclear; chest?)
  • Trevor Lawrence (ankle)
  • Tim Patrick (left knee)
  • Devontae Booker (hip)
  • Albert Okwuegbunam (knee)
Here's who I'm looking at coming out of Sunday's action:
Top targets:
  1. Brandon Aiyuk, WR, SF 50%
  2. Elliah Moore, WR, NYJ 14%
  3. Jordan Howard, RB, PHI 38%
  4. Rashod Bateman, WR, BAL 59%
  5. Rhamondre Stevenson, RB, NE 26%
