Good evening

From the position of middle age it is quite difficult to think how you might have reacted to the restrictions of the pandemic and the constant push to ‘grab a jab' as a younger person’

Would we all have moaned - almost certainly. But would we have gone and got a jab to make sure our parents and grandparents were not put in danger? Definitely.

At the moment, around one third of under 30s are still unvaccinated - even though they are going into hospital in increasing numbers and the stories of Long Covid among this generation are growing by the day.

Speaking to some of them it is not necessarily that they believe some of the wilder claims about the vaccinations - but that they simply ‘haven’t got round to it.’

The Government has now launched a new campaign to encourage them to get their jabs by suggesting they are likely to miss out on both holidays and admission to nightclubs unless they are double vaccinated and they are using DJs and social media influencers to get the message across.

Will that be enough to persuade them to think further than next week? Let’s hope so.

Until next time, take care,

Gillian
