NATIONAL: The Knot Worldwide is hosting WeddingPro COR Oct. 5-8, a four-day virtual event for wedding professionals around the world to connect and stay up-to-date on industry insights. The Knot Worldwide is the largest global wedding planning company with a mission to help both couples and vendors navigate the pandemic. The free event will feature virtual panel discussions, yoga classes, and more.

Registration is now open for PlanetIMEX, a free online event for the global meeting industry that's replacing the in-person IMEX America in Las Vegas. Running from Oct. 12-16, the 3D virtual experience will have a vibrant "underwater theme," with a giant clam shell as the main education stage. The interactive virtual space will offer education, networking, and more.

ALEXANDRIA, VA.: Producer Andy Payne has launched King Street Production Group (KSPG), a scalable event management platform specializing in creative audience engagements and one-of-a-kind experiences. The KSPG team leverages new technologies with their 30-plus years of event production experience to create and deliver innovative engagements to a wide range of clients.

AUGUSTA, GA.: Edgar’s Above Broad Rooftop opened last week, bringing a new rooftop dining experience to downtown Augusta. Edgar’s Above Broad is located on the third floor of the Augusta University office tower, boasting 17,000 square feet of restaurant and entertainment space that expands onto an outdoor terrace. The indoor-outdoor atmosphere can accommodate as many as 500 guests.

LOS ANGELES: The Motion Picture and Television Fund’s (MPTF) ninth annual “Reel Stories, Reel Lives” event is going virtual on Oct. 20. The event will be hosted by Hugh Jackman, and it will feature live performances that will be livestreamed across MPTF’s YouTube and Facebook pages. MPTF works to provide social, financial, and health services to entertainment industry members, including help with managing loneliness, stress, and anxiety brought about by the pandemic. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, MPTF has tripled the number of community members it serves.
