More Goodtaste This Weekend!
This weekend, we’re packing in the good eats! First, we meet a world-class cyclist-turned-baker in Austin who makes everything from pan dulce to al pastor from scratch. Next, we head to Cross Roads for crispy chicken-fried steak and a menu full of wood-fired dishes. Finally, we kick back and relax with a glass of wine in the Hill Country and try internationally award-winning bottles with a slice of decadent Chocolate Chip Banana Cake (we even snagged the recipe for you!). Tanji’s Wine Finds: 1000 Stories Cabernet Sauvignon
This barrel-aged Cab is as rich in color as it is in flavor. 1000 Stories Cabernet Sauvignon ($21) shows cherry, black currant, and tobacco, plus additional layers of complexity like charred vanilla from its time spent aging in bourbon barrels. To make this wine really shine, pair it with a bold, rich dish like Smashed Cumin Lamb Burgers. Pick up a bottle at your local H-E-B.

Make This Now: Mi Tradición’s Hawaiiana Torta
Mi Tradición is a panadería, or Mexican bakery, serving up freshly baked breads and sweets daily. If you don’t have chipotle mayonnaise for this sandwich on hand, making your own is easy!
