After 11 Republican senators backed a bipartisan gun bill, Thomas Massie is warning the American people about the dangers of red flag laws.
Many pro-Second Amendment supporters are concerned about the package's red flag gun seizure order provision.
"Red flag laws violate the 5th Amendment to the Constitution," Massie said in a tweet on June 14, 2022.
In other words, red flag laws deprive citizens of a Constitutional right without the due process of law.
Anyone who has a grudge against a gun owner can simply report them to law enforcement as a threat to have their guns confiscated.
Americans want to address gun violence, and that's a legitimate goal. But we can't trample on the Constitution in the process. |
