In this series of case studies from queries handled by our Ask for Guidance team, we look at real examples of thorny issues our experts have resolved. They range from lifting a 100-year-old caution against dealings, to enquiries under the Settled Land Act 1925 and Mission and Pastoral Measure 2011, and, in our first case study, removing a historic, paid-up charge.Â

In January we completed 1,883,137 applications, compared with 1,335,792 in December and 1,777,649 last January 2023. The top five local authority areas for applications were Birmingham, City of Westminster, Leeds, North Yorkshire and Cornwall. |
