From 5 August you no longer need to notify our service centre of a change in representation for applications under the new divorce law. Youâll be able to update representatives on MyHMCTS and changes will be instant. Youâll also receive an email confirmation. There are some exceptions to this: - This update only applies to new law cases and not old law digital cases
- You cannot request a notice of change on a case thatâs judicial separation, this remains a paper case and requests should continue to be sent to our Service Centre
- You cannot request a notice of change on a joint application made using a paper form. These applications must be either fully paper or fully digital throughout the process
Guidance on applying for a divorce on MyHMCTS is available on GOV.UK. |

The Court of Protection is now using a new case management system, The Court of Protection Information System (CRIS), which replaces the previous âCASRECâ platform. Itâs a more modern digital system that enables us to capture information on special measures for court users more efficiently with improved tracking of cases. In the future it will support greater transparency through improved data. |
