Courts and tribunals opening times over Easter 2024 Our courts and tribunals will temporarily close over the Easter period, from Friday 29 March to Monday 1 April 2024. They will reopen on Tuesday 2 April 2024. Some magistrates courts will be open on Saturday 30 March and Monday 1 April 2024, but for remand hearings only. HMCTS appoints a new non-executive director The Lord Chancellor, Lady Chief Justice and Senior President of Tribunals have appointed Luisa Fulci to the HMCTS Board as a Non-Executive Director, starting on 1 April 2024. The role of non-executive directors is to contribute to the effective delivery of the organisations goals. Observing a hearing on Cloud Video Platform From Friday 5 April 2024, anyone observing a remote hearing on Cloud Video Platform will be able to join the hearing with their camera and audio switched off. If you select the observer option when joining the session, you'll be able to observe the hearing without the risk of interrupting the proceedings. The way you request to observe a hearing will not change. Guidance on how to join a hearing on Cloud Video Platform is available on GOV.UK and will be updated on 5 April 2024. | | Oxford Crown Court open day Over 750 visitors attended our open day at Oxford Crown Court last Saturday, 23 March 2024. Visitors welcomed the opportunity to speak with court staff and judges, visit the holding cells, pet a police wellbeing dog, join mock trials and much more. Pre-recorded evidence webinar for advocates OnThursday 11 April 2024, we will host an interactive webinar for advocates to learn more about the new technology to support the delivery of the pre-recorded evidence special measure under Section 28 of the Youth and Criminal Justice Act.
