Hello fellow woodworkers!

We are very excited about our new front vice that will be released late this September. This vice boasts a practical and comfortable handle with a smooth winding action that requires no excessive force to hold your work, and will not rack in any work holding situation. Made from high grade aluminium, this vice is light but strong and with the thread being hidden away from dust it will last a life time. The aluminium jaw is also kind to any unexpected blows from a plane or chisel. The side of your bench is the back jaw of the vice and if made square to the underside of your bench the front jaw will pull up squarely to it, holding material firmly with minimal force. You can add leather to the jaws if desired for work holding that isn't quite square. We have been testing this style of vice under real workshop conditions for the last 3 years to ensure function and design are flawless for our customers. For more information email us at planemaker@hntgordon.com.au. Currently in trial is two versions of a pattern makers vice which will hopefully be released later in the year or early next year.

In addition to our new vice, we have been working hard on the prototype of our new Plow Plane. This finished prototype will be at the Melbourne Working with Wood Show (which you will find details about below). The release date of the plow plane is unknown at this stage, but we hope to have it available to purchase by late this year. The plane will be available with both metric and imperial scales just like our Moving Fillister plane. You will be able to buy it with 1 blade or multiple blades depending on the different sizes you need. Below is a picture of the prototype in action!

We will be attending the Melbourne Timber and Working with Wood show again this year on the 8-10 September from 10am-4pm daily. You can find more info on this event by heading to the Impressive Exhibitions website. We will have our full range of tools as well as the prototypes for our new products available to try. We will also have a selection of Colen Clenton Marking out Tools to purchase. Terry will be doing a presentation at the show called 'From sharp to blunt' - you may be surprised that you are sharpening your blades before they are really blunt. Come along to find out more.
