A Time When Art, Dance and Social Justice Issues are Everywhere
Thursday, April 25, 6:30 PM, $10
A performance of a small group works created through a collaboration between the Hoggard High School Dance Dept. student choreographers and graduate students enrolled in EDL 558: Social Justice Topics in Education at UNCW. Each piece is inspired by a social justice concept that, like art, is found everywhere and in all cultures. The choreographers were further challenged to connect their work to pieces exhibited in the museum. A discussion will follow the performance where dancers and graduate students will reflect on the collaborative process and answer questions from the audience.

But what if I'm really thirsty before the tour? Join us for happy hour beforehand to loosen up your brain and chat about art.
Art Moves Midtown
FUN + FOOTPRINTS lead to ART + SPIRIT at CAM's Art Moves Midtown 5k and Minnie's Mile. Walk, run, or race in either 5k or 1 mile and join in all of the art activities going in during the event.  Artist Steve Kelly has just completed the bisque firing for the awards, glaze firing to come. What color will this year's awards be? Stay tuned, and get registered!

A dance and poetry performance based on aspects of Minnie Evans' life, the ways in which her experiences impacted her artwork, and what we can learn from her experience as a black female artist. Q&A with the artists follows the program. Held in conjunction with CAM's exhibition Minnie, Clyde, Annie, Vollis.

Milkweed for Monarchs

Minnie Evans loved butterflies, and we do too! The Museum Shop and CAM's Property Manager team up to boost the monarch butterfly population. Purchase a milkweed plant that will be planted on CAM's campus near Minnie Evans' Gatehouse and receive a milkweed seed packet for your own yard and a bonus butterfly notecard and envelope.
