During this trying time, it is hard to be hopeful. We can turn on our TVs or scroll through our social media feeds and constantly read bad news about what is going on in the world. Events have been canceled, school is being done online, and sports are on a total pause. The things each of us were looking forward to are all in jeopardy, and that disappointment is hard.
But as Christians, we are called to a greater hope. Not a hope in people, in healing, or restoration of this situation we find ourselves in, but of Jesus. We can look to Jesus as our solid foundation as we hope for life to go back to normal. We can have hope because God is faithful, and He can be trusted to keep His promises to us. During these times, we can trust Him because we have seen the character of God in His Word and even in our own lives if we look for it. He loves us, He sees us, He is for us, and He is with us; not even a global pandemic can change that!
