Home sales are crashing down to reality in the West |

| | It seems that housing markets throughout the West — including the Beehive State — may finally be coming back down to earth after the pandemic housing frenzy caused home prices to skyrocket. "Just as the West was ground zero for soaring home prices fueled by the pandemic housing rush, it’s now ground zero for the sharpest price corrections," Katie McKellar writes. According to a recent Redfin report, Boise, Idaho, was once again the leading metro area with the largest share of homes for sale that had a price drop in October. When it comes to total home sales, Salt Lake City had a significant dip, according to Redfin's analysis. | Anna Robertson had a wildly successful broadcast news career, but wildfires and air quality in southern California propelled her to pivot her career and home city. Robertson grew frustrated with climate change and decided to make two major changes; she moved to Park City, Utah, and created the first mainstream climate information hub, The Cool Down. She described feeling discontented by how little climate news was reaching a larger audience and sought to amplify these important issues on a grander stage. Robertson's site aims to provide people with news as well as resources into being more environmentally friendly. Robertson said, "We have a huge opportunity to broaden the conversation on climate topics. And, we’re not going to be able to change anything if we just talk to one group of people.” She strives to elevate a diverse set of voices not aimed at talking to a single group of people, but the world at large.
