The story of Azaria Chamberlain is a well known case in Australian history and while we now know the truth about what happened on that fateful night, in 1981 there was still uncertainty around the cause of the nine-week-old baby girl's disappearance. The Canberra Times reported on this day, 1981, that the Coroner's court visited a dingo lair near the site of Azaria's disappearance and Phil Rice, QC, described the lair as being "a stones throw" from where her clothing had been found. The court party and media representatives walked around the area where the Chamberlain's claimed they were when Azaria disappeared from their tent.   READ MORE
