Summer break from school means freedom! But it can also lead to summer learning loss, also known as summer slide. Researchers from the National Summer Learning Association say most students lose about two months of math skills and low-income children lose about four or five months in reading. Hookah coals blamed, man charged in pavilion fire at Bde Maka Ska
An attempted hookah session gone wrong appears to be the explanation for the fire that burned down the pavilion and restaurant at Bde Maka Ska, also known as Lake Calhoun. Hennepin County prosecutors say they've charged a man in connection with the May 16 fire.
