A significant update has just emerged minutes ago from the Zaka Tel-Aviv team. After operating at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza for the second day, our team discovered approximately 200 bodies in the hospital's basement. Among these, the body of Yehudit Weiss, a 65-year-old mother of five who was abducted by Hamas on October 7, was recovered. Currently, it is suspected that there are other bodies belonging to missing hostages, although this has not yet been confirmed. The daunting process of identification is underway. |
| Zaka Tel-Aviv volunteers are at the forefront of this grim but necessary task, working alongside medical examiners. The identification process is painstaking and slow, with the bodies in such a state that the work is both physically and emotionally demanding. Amidst this, our commitment to respect and dignity in handling these situations remains unwavering. In these trying times, our need for your support is more pressing than ever. The resources required for this process, and for our overall operation - from essential equipment to advanced first aid kits and communication devices - are substantial. Your donations are critical in ensuring that our volunteers are equipped to respond effectively to these challenging circumstances. |
| Your support makes a tangible difference. Each contribution helps us maintain our readiness and capacity to provide prompt and efficient aid. Your generosity ensures that Zaka Tel-Aviv can continue to be a beacon of hope and strength for those affected by these ongoing conflicts. We will keep you updated with more details as our efforts continue. Thank you for standing with us during this critical time. Your involvement is not just a donation; it's a lifeline for those in dire need. Warm regards, Yoni Gilboa Director of Zaka Tel-Aviv |
