Hotel planned for Youngsville likely won't happen

Good morning and welcome back to another edition of Acadiana Business Today. Let's get cracking. 

When I reported almost two years ago that Youngsville would get its first hotel, there was plenty of reader interest. A Texas group that, it turns out, are building the TaD's Louisiana Cooking locations paid nearly $2.5 million for 14 acres at the corner of Savoy Road and Chemin Metairie Parkway. Their plan was to build a hotel and other amenities. 

Now the property is listed without a hotel but with 64 townhomes along with commercial spaces in an outparcel. 

It was a good idea at the time.
