Spartanburg Housing Authority plans move to Star Mill

The Spartanburg Housing Authority will move its central offices from 2271 S. Pine St. to Star Mill, currently under renovation in the Northside Community at 170 Arch St.

Auto dealership establishes scholarships for Greer residents

Dick Brooks Honda is funding eight scholarships for Greer residents who attend North Greenville University. The scholarships were established to benefit four students attending the main campus in Tigerville and four others attending the Tim Brashier Campus in Greer.

Florence tax preparer sentenced on fraud charges

A Florence tax preparer has been sentenced to federal prison after pleading guilty to federal charges related to preparing and filing false income tax returns. Donna Faye Shird, of Florence, was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison, followed by three years of court-ordered supervision.

Fall for Greenville gives $38,600 to nonprofits

Bank of America Fall for Greenville board members and event partners recently presented $38,600 to 12 nonprofit organizations from the community and recognized the efforts of those organizations that committed substantial volunteer hours over the course of the three-day event. All funds donated came from the 2019 festival held last October.
