Startups that support remote work continue to attract investment dollars despite a return-to-office push by some employers, where "[i]nvestors are super-pumped on remote," says Remotebase co-founder Qasim Salam. "Despite the call by some employers for workers to come back to offices, we just closed our biggest month on record and our biggest ever quarter," Remote co-founder Job van der Voort adds.
More transparency and communication from potential employers would ease hiring for both sides, according to a survey by job search engine Adzuna. The US economy added 261,000 jobs to nonfarm payrolls last month, while the unemployment rate increased to 3.7%, according to the Labor Department. The employment gain points to continued strength in the job market, but it was down from September's upwardly revised 315,000 jobs. "The labor market's going from 100 miles per hour to 85," said Rob Dent, senior US economist at Nomura, noting that the Federal Reserve wants to see further deceleration.

The Women's Sports Network, a 24/7 streaming hub, officially launched this week in an effort to serve the growing audience and to increase visibility for teams and athletes. The network has partnered with a dozen women's professional leagues, including the WNBA and the Ladies Professional Golf Association. "As we have seen repeatedly, women's sports don't get the coverage they deserve," says Stuart McLean, CEO of the company that created the network. "At the Women's Sports Network, women's sports are primetime, all the time."
