NATIONAL: As of Jan. 11, PSAV has officially rebranded and will now operate under the name of Encore. The rebrand aims to more accurately represent the company’s services and to promote its enhanced hybrid event solutions. The second edition of Spark of Change, a virtual conference for event professionals, will take place Jan. 27. Focused on the world of online event management, the event will focus on technology, audience engagement and effective event management. It’s being organized by OES and powered by KDK Events, Eventy Online and Otako Studio. AUSTIN: The 80-suite Colton House Hotel has opened on Austin’s South Congress Avenue. The suites range from 460 to 1,170 square feet and are equipped with modern kitchens, living rooms, and in-room washers and dryers. Event space includes The Backyard, a 5,000-square-foot outdoor space, plus a 1,200-square-foot Penthouse. CHICAGO: This spring, Donald Young—Chicago’s youngest Michelin-starred chef—plans to open Venteux, a French brasserie featuring an oyster and Champagne bar. A partnership with Clique Hospitality, the eatery will be located inside the 1920 Art Deco landmark Carbide & Carbon building. NEW YORK: The Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage Anywhere Digital Series has announced its 2021 plans, kicking off Jan. 15 with a performance commemorating Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday.
