With the excitement of the Maine high school basketball tournaments now in the rearview, we turn our attention to all the big games coming up for the University of Maine Black Bears. Friday night brings two big matchups, starting with the women’s basketball team taking on UMass Lowell at The Pit at the Memorial Gym on the UMaine campus for the America East quarterfinals. Over at the Alfond Arena, the UMaine men’s ice hockey team takes on UMass, a matchup the Black Bears will repeat on Saturday night. It’s an action-packed weekend for UMaine sports! However, if you’re still itching for more high school basketball action, the McDonald’s All-Star Basketball games are set for Saturday at Newman Gymnasium at Husson University in Bangor, with games all day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
