Votes continue to be counted in America, but Donald Trump is now firmly on the cusp of victory in the US presidential election.

 

As our Investigations Correspondent Martyn McLaughlin writes, the levels of support for the former US president appear to have been underestimated in some quarters. Mr Trump has now addressed his supporters and claimed what he has called a "magnificient victory", saying: "America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate."
