Editor's Notes

Reporting often doesn't end in the same place where it begins. That was the case for a piece I published today (See below). What started as a look at how startups dole out equity turned out to center on another question altogether: ownership.

 

In the end, it became clear that offering percentages and stock options has grown as a key piece of the equation for startup founders seeking early employees. But don't discount the learning and growth that can be offered along the way.
