GLOBAL: Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants—part of IHG Resorts’ Luxury & Lifestyle Collection—has announced the rollout of its inaugural Stay Human experience package, including Stay Human concierges. Available at select hotels in Kimpton’s global portfolio (currently including Mallorca, Tokyo, Australia, Texas, Los Angeles, New York City, London, and more), the offering aims to appeal to different travel styles and personalities with a selection of bookable a la carte experiences. Designated Stay Human concierges will help guests curate a stay that is uniquely their own.
Rachel Harrison Communications has launched an outpost in London, RHC UK. The new office will be helmed by Harrison herself, along with managing partner Lauren Webster. Since its grand opening in New York City in 2020, the full-service communications firm now has offices in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Paris, and Mexico City. Outposts are set to open in San Francisco, Dallas, Sydney, and Singapore throughout the rest of this year and into 2024.
CHICAGO: The South Loop’s Chicago Firehouse Restaurant is celebrating Mardi Gras on Feb. 21 with a special Fat Tuesday menu highlighting Louisiana-inspired eats. Available from 5:30-10 p.m., guests can expect to dine on the likes of crawfish mac and cheese, cajun fried chicken jambalaya, shrimp po’ boy, and creole seafood gumbo—just to name a few—while listening to tunes courtesy of brass and jazz band High-Hat Second Line. Tickets to the overall experience, which includes a buffet meal, live music, and Mardi Gras beads, are available on Chicago Firehouse Restaurant’s website for $55.
NEW ORLEANS: Kimpton Hotel Fontenot has announced a 12,000-square-foot expansion into an adjacent historic building. The additional space will be transformed into flexible meeting, event, and wedding venue space that’s slated to open in March. Upon opening, planners can expect a blank-slate space that incorporates the building’s original brick walls and reclaimed timber. There will also be the 5,506-square-foot Canray Ballroom for up to 550 guests; the 554-square-foot Evangeline Ballroom, which boasts an outdoor terrace and space for up to 265; and the third-floor Lala room, spanning 1,017 square feet for up to 100.
NEW YORK: Toronto-based Indian chef and restaurateur Hemant Bhagwani has ventured into the U.S. with the opening of Goa New York in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood on Feb. 11. The bi-level Indian restaurant features custom lighting and art installations, an open kitchen, and colorful wall projections. On the menu, diners can expect interactive takes on Indian cooking, including oysters and dishes from the robata grill. Reservations can be made by calling the restaurant or via Resy.
