Hi John!

Of all the things to happen this week, on top of it all I got banned on Facebook for 24 hours for posting a cartoon. I’ll show you which one in a bit.

Sometimes bad things happen. Okay. I get that. But sometimes a lot of bad things happen. I don’t get that.

I used to believe in demons and their ability to really mess up my life. Right now would have been one of those times.

I don’t know why when it rains it pours. It seems to be true. But, no, it’s not demons. But it sure is wicked!

DAD JOKE OF THE WEEK

I’m a sucker for dad jokes. Good ones make me laugh. This one made me laugh out loud this week:

Do you know what Forrest Gump’s password is? “1FORREST1” hahaha!

CARTOON OF THE WEEK

This is the cartoon that got me banned on Facebook for 24 hours.

I appealed it on both my nakedpastor business Facebook as well as my personal /davehayward Facebook. It was restored on nakedpastor but not davehayward.

Algorithms don’t get satire.

And apparently review boards don’t either.

Which is too bad because many of my cartoons are satirical. I poke fun at idiocy, hate, and discrimination. And that’s hard to do without quoting them.

Also, it was VERY popular, with thousands of likes on Instagram and tons of comments. Darnit!

POST OF THE WEEK

This post was all about leaving the church and deconstruction.

So many people resonate with my “slide shows” when I incorporate my paintings and lay thoughtful text on top of them.

PAINTING OF THE WEEK

I finished painting this last week. I call it “Out of the Darkness We Rise”.

Yes, I do canvases as well. This one is 10”x20” and ready to hang because the sides are painted as well.

Even though my paintings often express the beauty of solitude, I think they also express the beauty of love in solitude. Like these two trees... you know what it's like to be alone together, or together alone... that love isn't always a blending of the two and therefore the loss of self, but a meeting of the two. Love is one, but it respects the parts.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
