If you've felt just *slightly* overwhelmed by the avalanche of television that was available in 2022, it's because, in America alone, a whopping 599 original, scripted, English-language series were in production last year. 
 

At America's 2023 Television Critics Association press tour in the United States, John Landgraf, chairman of FX content and FX Productions, who annually keeps tabs on the number of American TV shows in production, revealed last week that 2022 once again saw even more television being made than in 2021.
 

It was Landgraf who coined the term "Peak TV" back in 2015 – with "Peak TV" becoming even more "Peak TV" every year since. It's showing no sign of slowing down as video streaming services appeared on the scene and have also started making their originals.
