The fringe notion that the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol was the work of the FBI instead of Donald Trump’s supporters is edging toward the mainstream, thanks to some Louisiana members of Congress. Teddy Bridgewater spent only two seasons with the Saints, mostly as a backup quarterback. After Bridgewater announced his retirement from the NFL on Saturday, columnist Rod Walker recalls the five games when he won New Orleans’ heart.
